No comment on Emma Thompson's ignorance

I found this late last night and wanted to sleep on my anger before sharing with you. As I've discussed with you before, Emma Thompson has penned the screenplay for the new adaptation of My Fair Lady, which has been in pre-production for a couple of years now. Nothing is moving forward, and while out promoting her new Nanny McPhee film I suppose Emma wanted to remind everyone that she has a film waiting to be made, and the best way to get attention would be to slag on Audrey. Yes, Emma Thompson trash talks Audrey Hepburn.

The Daily Mail has the story, though really, I think the title tells you more than you want to know: 'Audrey Hepburn was twee, mumsy and really couldn't act': Emma Thompson's scathing appraisal of My Fair Lady star. The link will take you to the article, and that's all I'm going to say on this for now. I did actually write quite a fact-filled rant schooling Emma Thompson on how wrong she is on all this, but I'll spare you - unless you'd really like me to share.

Well, I read her scathing comments. I shouldn't have, because I am angry now. Quite angry, indeed. To be honest, the whole My Fair Lady situation angers me. To this day, as big an Audrey fan as I am, I cannot stand to watch the film knowing Audrey's voice was dubbed-over. And, it isn't just that it was dubbed, it was the way it was dubbed, without her knowing it would be, that really gets me going. Anyway, back to the subject at hand: Shame on Emma Thompson! I was a fan up until a few moments ago. How dare she? I suppose it speaks volumes about her because, really, you'd have to be a pretty cold person not to love Audrey Hepburn, I think. In case you can't tell, yes, I for one would LOVE you to share your scathing rant! I shall never see another Emma Thompson film as long as I live!!!!

That is just ridiculous. I don't even know who Emma Thompson is. She shouldn't be the one writing the script for This movie! F- her.

As a an actress, I have always found Emma Thompson hugely unwatchable. She seem to have an air of conceited over confidence about her.
Audrey Hepburn was so much more than an actress. It was and is her purity and sincerety as a person that was captured on film,as well as her unique beauty that has drawn million of fans worldwide.
Thompsons attempt to play devils advocate, possibly in order to generate publicity, may come back to ultimatley haunt her.

Ah, it's always the same, it's just a shame, that's all.
I cannot effin' believe Emma Thompson would say that, way to cast the first stone, Emma. I see a recurring trend of younger generations slagging off the older because they can't ever reach that level. I'm sure 200 years from now, we're all gonna remember Emma Thompson amongst the most amazing women of all time. Emma is so full of it.

Who on earth does Emma think she is? A haggered actress that can only be successful playing a dressed up hag of a nanny!!! She's a nobody and does not have the right attitude to write the script for a movie that one of the most glamorous and adoring actresses starred in. She has no class. In case you cant tell - I would like to share your rant. I read this while sat in the office and started my own rant - then of course I realised where I was and that people may not appreciate and be as passionate about it as I am.

I just can't understand people who trashes other people without knowing them... and more over about Audrey. How does one not like her???? If Thompson reincarnate Eliza, I would love to hear what Julie Andrews (who did Eliza on Broadway) thinks about her performance! Then we'll see who didn't act very well.

I find this really sad, actually. It's such a shame when celebrities get into these slanging matches just for publicity and fail to appreciate the work of their colleagues.

Audrey Hepburn is such a beautiful woman! Even though she earned fame she took her time to help the children in Africa. She is my role model in life and her quotes are inspirational.
