check your email!

Finally, after much deliberation (and some sweet agony), my lovely assistant and I have chosen the three lucky people to win a free copy of Just Being Audrey. So check your email!

If you weren't selected in this contest ... please don't take it personally, or think anything badly about your entry. They were all good, and they were all taken to heart and thought over carefully. It was extremely difficult to just choose three out of so many quality entries, and if I had the funds, I would definitely have sent every single one of you a book. Rest assured, if I ever win the lottery, I will split the funds between you lovely people and UNICEF. :)

But fear not, because there will always be more contests! Thank you again to every single person who entered and shared such wonderful memories and thoughts, and please know that all of you touched our hearts with your letters. Audrey has the best fans.

Special thanks again and again to Kath for all of her help during this contest.

apologies for the delay

Hello, I just wanted to check in with you all and assure you that no, I have not forgotten the contest! I know I had said that the three winners would be announced shortly but I really hadn't expected so many astounding entries. To be completely honest with you, I needed an assistant to help me narrow down the results and we're still having trouble getting it down to just three! Your entries were so touching and wonderful, all of them, that it is agony to try and cut it down. If I had the funds, rest assured that all of you would be getting a book! As it is, we are aiming to have the final three chosen in the coming week. I know you hate waiting, but know that it's because your entries were all so wonderful and that we are taking every single letter to heart.

contest now closed

Just a quick note to say that the contest has now closed, and thank each and every one of you who entered! I haven't read all of the letters yet, but based on what I have read, this won't be an easy decision. So many entries were just fantastic, I really really wish I could afford to send every single one of you a book!

Winners will be announced shortly. Thanks again for entering!

Just Being Audrey giveaway contest!

You've waited long enough, now here it is: I will be giving away three (3) copies of the gorgeous children's picture book Just Being Audrey. Highly acclaimed and already deeply loved, this book is short and sweet and beautifully written. Designed for children but accessible to all, the book gives a lovely summary of Audrey's life, from la petite ballerina in Holland to the trendsetting Hollywood icon to the UNICEF ambassador, all illustrated with divine full color (and often full page) drawings.

All you have to do is send me an email at admin[at]fabaudrey.com (replace the [at] with @, or just click on the link to automatically open your email browser), title the email "contest," and tell me your name, what your favourite piece of Audrey Hepburn memorabilia is and why. I don't expect anything big, this isn't a school essay, and you don't have to impress anyone here. Just something Audrey-related that you especially love or are sentimental about. It could even be a copy of your favourite film of hers and how it makes you feel. Don't feel pressured, just write a little something from the heart. I will pick three - if I can! - and those three will be shipped a free copy of Just Being Audrey. That's it. :)

The rules: this contest is open to anyone anywhere in the world, as long as you can receive packages from the U.S. Your book will be shipped directly from amazon.com. You do not need to give me any personal information other than your name unless I contact you saying that you have won and I will need an address to ship to. Please do not take it personally if you weren't selected in this contest, there will be more! I am already quite sure it will be hard to choose just three entries, but I am a student and can't afford to buy everyone books at this time. :)

The contest will run from now, Saturday March 19, 2011 at 1 pm PST, until next Saturday March 26, 2011 at 1 pm PST. After the contest has closed I will read all of the entries and face the difficult task of choosing three. Within one week I will contact the three winners and email them with congratulations and ask for a shipping address. I'm afraid that only the recipients of the books will be notified, though I thank you all in advance for participating and sharing your feelings on Audrey. If you have any questions that I haven't answered, please feel free to comment below. Bonne chance!

Special thanks to Kath for having the idea for the contest in the first place. :)

Just Being Audrey arrives!

I've received quite a response from you readers, so now I must have a contest giving away a few copies of this book or you'll never forgive me. :) The book was just released today though, so be patient as I get things in order!

I also wanted to tell you that if you are on Facebook, the Just Being Audrey page is giving away an autographed copy of the book. All you have to do is leave a comment on the status asking what your favourite Audrey film is and you are entered to win! Their contest runs until Friday, so if you're interested, go here. Once their contest has ended and the winner announced I think I will start up my contest. I think giving away 3 copies ought to be good.

Oh, and just to clarify: my contests are always open world-wide, not just to US residents. If you can receive packages then you can enter.

Vote for Audrey!

I received an email today from the UK InStyle magazine, and they've just started a fun new survey about the most stylish costume on film. Our dear Audrey is mentioned not once, but twice! You can vote for Holly Golightly's immortal little black dress from the opening scenes of Breakfast at Tiffany's, or the equally iconic black and white dress from the Ascot races in My Fair Lady. Simply go here, to InStyle's website, and vote for your favourite. They've asked for our help, Audrey fans, now let's give it to 'em!

This survey is in conjunction with Sky Movies' Fabulous Film Costume Season, which starts on January first with The English Patient and ends on January 13th with Marie Antoinette. You can read more about Sky's costume season and the films they'll be airing during those two weeks here, if you're interested. You can also vote for Audrey again through their website, though don't tell them I told you that. ;)

Contest winners!

At long last, here are the three lucky ladies who will receive fabulous Audrey Hepburn prizes for entering the costume contest. Before I announce them, though, I'd like to say thank you again to all of the beauties who took the time and effort to put together such great costumes and show the world how much they admire dear Audrey. And now, without further ado:

Winning a new copy of the 50th anniversary edition of Funny Face is Jaqueline!

Each winning a new copy of Sean Ferrer's fabulous biography/picture book of his mum, Audrey Hepburn: An Elegant Spirit, is Kelly and Jordan!*

Ladies, check your email for instructions on how to get your early X-mas presents mailed to you posthaste. And for every single lady who entered and sent a picture of herself at her Golightly best, you will each be emailed a pop art version of your picture as a little souvenir of your time as the one and only Audrey Hepburn. It might take a while to make them all, but you will get it!

Thank you for all of your time and energy putting those costumes together, too. It made me really happy to see so many happy gals showing off their hard work, and I hope you had a great time too. Congratulations to everyone!

*I got your message about your New York holiday, Jordan. Get that Cracker Jack ring engraved and make us all proud!

showing your inner Audrey: part three

Okay everybody, this is the final installment (for 2007, anyway) of lovely ladies who weren't afraid to show the world their love for Audrey Hepburn on Halloween. Without further ado, here are three beauties at their Audrey Hepburn best:

Here we have the stylish Amy, who wasn't afraid to take her Audrey style out all day to work/school (sorry, I can't tell which it is). The classic Holly Golightly tiara is firmly in place, along with the chic ciggie holder, pearls, opera gloves, little black dress and kitten heels. Also note the fab oversized glasses, for slipping past those pesky guys who just can't leave a pretty girl alone. Way to rock it, Amy!

And here is the eternally stylish Courtney, hanging out at the library like Holly was wont to do when studying up on Brazil. Have you met a rich, handsome Brazilian and not told us? Courtney sports the upswept pineapple 'do Holly is famous for, along with a tiara accent and some pearls for extra class. She actually sent two pictures in, and in the other picture you can see her cute black mini dress better, but I just like how much this shot looks like Holly's classic breakfast picture. Très elegant!

And here is the fab Jennifer, who coincidentally looks an awful lot like a certain other Jennifer who played dear Audrey in The Audrey Hepburn Story. Crazy, isn't it? Jennifer rocks the towering beehive and wispy fringe Holly was famous for, along with some really fantastic jewelry. The necklace is a great replica! Let's not forget the sleek opera gloves and long gold ciggie holder, and the classic bateau neck black dress that oozes class and style. Magnificent!

I hope you enjoyed seeing all of these lovely ladies showing you their Audrey best as much as I did! I'm happy to see that women still admire Audrey Hepburn and love her kooky Holly Golightly as much now as they did forty years ago when Breakfast at Tiffany's was still new.

Tomorrow: contest winners will be announced!

showing your inner Audrey: part two

The costume contest is closed now, and we had so many fab entries! Even though all of these lovely ladies were channeling Audrey Hepburn, they each managed to have their own style as well and be completely unique about it. To give each of these ladies some room to shine I'm going to break up the last of the entries (the ones okay with sharing their pictures, anyway) into two groups. And so, without further ado, is part two of your Audrey style:

First up is the lovely Kasey, who says that her dress was an Isaac Mizrahi (who is very influenced by Audrey's style, obviously!), her shoes were Cole Haan, the lovely triple-strand pearls were from Macy's, the gloves from Claire's (a great place for gloves, by the way), Tiaratown for the Holly Golightly tiara replica, and her cigarette holder came from a flapper website. With a little bit of shopping around and craftiness, she was able to make her own Audrey style. Bellissima!

Next is the fab Taylor W., who went all out with pearl earrings, a rope of pearls and some wrist candy -- oh, and of course the Tiffany & Co. bag. Nice touch! There's no mistaking who she's supposed to be, especially with the oversized movie star shades and ciggie holder. The lady to Taylor's left is obviously thinking, "Oh my god, that's Audrey Hepburn!" Nicely done, Taylor! By far the classiest lady in the room that night.

Here is Shawn, who's done a fantastic job recreating Audrey's iconic Breakfast at Tiffany's pose -- the one where Holly is actually having breakfast at Tiffany's. I love the beautiful alternative to the usual tiara, it reminds me a little bit of My Fair Lady for some reason. The sweet little black dress, pearls, and gold cigarette holder all definitely say "I'm Holly Golightly," though. Well done, Shawn! I hope you framed this picture.

The last lady for today, but certainly not the least, is Taylor K. The "I'm with Holly" pose is classic, I love it! Add a swingin' little black dress, some glamorous glasses and a ciggie, and you are Holly. The best part is the trick-or-treat for UNICEF box, which shows that Taylor's heart is mirroring Audrey's. An elegant touch!

I want to say thank you again to all of you fabulous women, for taking the time to show your love for Audrey by sharing your fantastic pictures. We'll have one more installment of costume pictures, and then the prize winners will be drawn from a hat and announced. But at the risk of sounding cheesy, all of you who entered the contest are fabulous and winners for showing your inner beauty to us. Thank you!

showing your inner Audrey: part one

Alright ladies, don't be shy! The costume pictures are starting to come in, and everyone looks absolutely fabulous. It's also nice to know that out of all the choices in the world, people still want to be classy and chic on Halloween. So, without further ado, here is the first batch of pictures sent in!

Here is chic Katie, who went all out with the very Holly Golightly widebrimmed hat (and white trim!), classic Wayfarers, elegant gloves, and classy pearls. Not shown: the Holly parasol and Cat! You did a great job, Katie. :)

Next up is Jordan, who said that the best part of being Holly was putting the costume together! She seems to have done very well, finding a dress from American Eagle, borrowing grandma's earrings, getting the necklace from a local flea market, and a ciggie holder from a costume shop. Proof that with a little time and perseverance, looking like Audrey can be done by anyone. Great finds, Jordan!

And here is the lovely Melissa, with a classic and always in style Little Black Dress, a pair of stylish opera gloves, a lovely triple-strand pearl necklace, and a big Holly hat. Note the large, dark glasses, showing that Melissa is a true celebrity. Great job! (I also love the little ghost towel to the right.)

Our last model for today is Bridget, who brought a little elegance to her school for Halloween (so you can ignore the school pass around her neck). The dress is très cute, perfectly matching her ladylike gloves, pearls, and -- wait, they let you smoke at school? ;)

They've all done fabulously, haven't they? There will be more costumes posted until the deadline of November tenth, so don't be shy!

Note: If you sent your picture in earlier and don't see it up here, it's because there was no written okay from you to post the picture(s) to the public. I'd rather err on the side of caution than post a picture that may make someone feel uncomfortable or unsafe, so if you just forgot to say it's okay to share your image, just write me at webmaster [at] fabaudrey.com (or use the contact button on the sidebar) and say so!

Happy Halloween!

Finally, the big day is here. I hope everyone has their Audrey Hepburn (or Holly Golightly) costumes all set and ready to go. Don't forget, if you love your costume and would like to use your style and hard work for a chance to win some free Audrey goodies, enter the costume contest! Click the link to the right for more details. If you don't have an Audrey costume or are shy about showing your costume, it's okay, you can enter too. You just have to like getting free things to enter. :)

Anyway, if you're more the stay at home type, or you're going to be celebrating indoors and would like a little spooky entertainment, might I suggest turning out the lights and watching Wait Until Dark? While it's Audrey's only scary movie, it's an excellent one (she was nominated for an Oscar!), and on everyone's top ten lists, including Pittsburgh's Post-Gazette. They compiled a top ten list of movies that were scary without being gory or disgusting, and right below Psycho is Wait Until Dark. Though made 40 years ago, it's still as frightening as ever, and I do hope it becomes as timeless and iconic in its genre as Psycho is now. If you don't own it already, I'm sure a nearby video rental would have a copy or two, but you might want to get there early, before they're all picked over!

show us your Audrey style

I've noticed that lots of people have been coming here for Audrey Hepburn or Holly Golightly costume tips, and it got me curious. I would love to see what you guys look like dressed as Audrey! So I have a proposition for you: if you feel comfortable with this, I would love to see pictures of you dressed in your Audrey Hepburn best. It could be your Halloween costume or just an everyday outfit, but take a pic and send it in! They will be posted here and on our MySpace blog (with first name only, no full names for privacy and safety), and you will automatically be entered in our latest contest. One first place winner and two runners-up will be chosen at random by names drawn out of a hat. I must stress that you will not in any way be judged by your appearance or looks for this contest. It is strictly for fun and to encourage other fans to dress up and show off!

First place will receive a copy of the new 50th anniversary edition of Funny Face. Both runners-up will receive a copy of Sean Ferrer's book, Audrey Hepburn: An Elegant Spirit in paperback.

We will take entries until November 10th, so you have enough time to send in your Halloween pictures, and the deadline is noon PST. You may enter on our contest page or send your email with picture(s) directly to contests [at] fabaudrey.com. Most of all, have fun dressing up and feel beautiful! If you need any help or tips, you can look around here or email me (at right) for help.

you could be the next Eliza Doolittle

Have you ever dreamed of succeeding Audrey Hepburn in the coveted role of Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady? That just might be in your future soon. According to The Sun, a British tabloid, the 50 year old musical might possibly be the next in a line of recent successful reality casting shows where average Joes and Janes like you and me compete to be the lead in a big Broadway musical. (You may be familiar with "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?" which was a casting show for The Sound of Music revival.) Nothing is set in stone yet, but BBC executives are also looking at Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber to appear on the show. So if you're in the UK and have absolutely no stage fright whatsoever at the thought of singing on TV in front of millions for the chance to be the next Audrey Hepburn, start warming up those vocal cords now! Read more here.

the Audrey Hepburn Community

The Audrey Hepburn Community has really been taking off lately! I've had to add a second page to fit all of the new members, which you can see here. So if you're looking for a new friend who just happens to be a fellow Audrey fan, you might want to give this place a shot. We've got people from all over the world signing up, including fans from Spain, Greece, the UK and the US.

In other virtual news, Second Style Magazine, an e-zine dedicated to Second Life, is having a Fashion Challenge: Inspired by Audrey Hepburn. I'll admit I'm a pretty big Sims nut (I may even have an Audrey Hepburn Sim in one of my neighborhoods . . .), but I'm totally out of the loop on this Second Life stuff. Anyway, it seems to be a massive online community of virtual people representing real people, and you can buy clothes and jewelry and other perks to spice up your virtual self. If you're into this sort of thing, you can dress your Second self in the most Audrey-inspired way you can, enter the contest, and win some virtual money! Along with some virtual jewels. Click the fashion challenge above for more information on how to enter, including picture uploading guidelines and contest rules.

Contest winners, Gardens of the World, and updates!

Je suis désolé, es tut mir leid, I am so sorry about taking so long with the contest! I won't waste your time with excuses, so I'll just get straight to it an announce the winners of the December contest. Second prize is a copy of the new Taschen Icons book on Audrey, and was won by Amy! First prize is a copy of the new special edition of "Gardens of the World," and has been won by Rosana! Ladies, please check your email so we can ship off your wonderful new prizes. And since the drawing was delayed until after the holidays, if you've received your prizes from someone else in the meantime, we'll work out some other prize you don't have. :)

Speaking of "Gardens of the World," I received my own copy for Christmas, and I've already watched half of it! I can't express to you how wonderful it is. The first disc starts off with roses, and really captivates you from the first. They couldn't have picked a more addicting first segment, honestly. If you're a horticulture fan like myself, then you'll absolutely swoon over these fantastic gardens and beautiful flowers. Audrey herself looks radiant and genuinely happy, so even if you're not a gardening nut, you'll be happy with the view of Audrey. I'll write up a real review later, when I've finished all 3 discs, but I can already tell you this is going to get 5 stars. Absolutely fantastic and very addicting. And I'm making myself wait on this one, but the third disc with the special features has footage from the Audrey Hepburn tulip ceremony! Now I can finally see what it looks like.

Now that things have settled down, there's more time for updates on the website, too. Three new people have joined the Audrey Hepburn community this month, so stop by and check them out. If you're looking for a fellow Audrey fan to chat with, this should be the first place to look! Alas, a couple of people recently have been forgetting to leave their email addresses, so no one can write to them! So if you do have a profile on the community, please check it and make sure you've left an address. If you've forgotten, just write to us and we'll fix it.

The quotes page has also been updated! More and more quotes coming in all the time, both quotes by Audrey and quotes about Audrey from her costars, directors, family and friends. Also, if you have a favourite quote that's not on the page, feel free to drop us a line and let us know!

And if you haven't noticed, this page has had some fixing as well. I'm still working on trying to get the heading picture back up ("upgrade" my foot, Blogger!), but we now have a picture of the week and a way to subscribe! If you have a customizable homepage, like AOL, Yahoo or Google where you can add news feeds, you can now get your Audrey news on the same page. Just click the link on the right and it'll take you to the subscription page. From there, all you have to do is choose the button with your homepage brand, and the Audrey news is added! Easy as pie. And more updates are coming, too.

Well, that's all for now. Remember, if you entered the contest, check your email! After about a week, unclaimed prizes will be redrawn and given to people who want their goodies. :)

Note: The Taschen Icons book on Audrey has been pushed back yet again in the US! The last known release date was December 22, but as of yesterday Amazon still doesn't have books to ship and no local bookstore of mine has any copies. So Americans will either have to order from Canada or keep waiting ...

"It's just another form of expression"

I've been thinking up a new project for the site, and hopefully tomorrow it'll be up and running. It actually would have been today, but certain programs decided to be fussy today, so tomorrow it is. (Thanks, Adobe.) Anyway, people from all over the world come and visit the site, and they seem to be a little shy about speaking up on the site, so maybe the language barrier has something to do with it. On this new page, people can talk about why they love Audrey and what makes her so special in any language they like, and it will be posted completely unedited for anyone to read, along with the author's favourite picture of Audrey. This way other visitors who may not be comfortable with English can still get the message about why Audrey is still so loved today, and maybe your words will make a new fan! So start thinking in any and all languages you know, and tomorrow will have the information you need to start sharing your thoughts.

Other than that, the contest page is now set up for the next contest. Since so many people voted in the poll, I figured the most fair way to choose a winner would be by drawing again. This contest is open to anyone in the world, as long as they can receive a package, though I must point out that the Gardens of the World special edition seems to only be out in Region 1. If that's not the case, please let me know! But if that is the case and you're not in Region 1 or don't have a Region 1 DVD player, maybe you could check your computer. Most newer models can play any region DVD, so that might be an option for you. Oh, and second prize is the new Taschen book, which actually isn't out yet, like I'd previously thought. Amazon changed their page (again), and when I checked at my local bookstore I ended up talking to the guy who orders all things Taschen and he said that they hadn't shipped yet, but they should be shipping out around the end of November. So by the time the contest is over and winners are announced and contacted, the book should be available.

On to other news! I found an article about a Givenchy designing jewelry for Sotheby's, and after some searching, I found that this Givenchy is James Givenchy, nephew to Audrey's great friend and designer Hubert de Givenchy. I guess high class talent runs in the family! To learn more about James, go here.

Next up, Liza Minelli's frog of an ex-husband, David Gest, is claiming that he was once chummy with Audrey and Sean. Apparently, he's going to be on a UK celebrity reality show, and he was bragging to a co-star about being best friends with Sean and having Audrey cook him dinner once. I'm just rolling my eyes, but you can judge for yourself here.

I got bored today and started wandering the Internet, like I always do, and found a page on the VH1 website about The Audrey Hepburn Story. There's really no information on it, but there is a trailer for the biopic on this page, and I'd never seen it before. I think I vaguely remember seeing a commercial for the special before it aired on ABC back in the day, but never a full trailer. I think it's sort of telling that the entire first half of the trailer has people talking at "Audrey," or they cut away before she opens her mouth. At just about the halfway point the trailer mentions Audrey winning an Oscar, and Jennifer Love Hewitt's first words as Audrey are, "An Ohskar, EEEEE!" It quickly goes downhill from there. If you're morbidly interested, then click here.

Speaking of, if you really really want to waste 3 hours of your life, the Women's Entertainment Channel (WE) is showing The Audrey Hepburn Story this month. You can view airtimes here, as well as seeing what better Audrey films are playing, and when.

For the last bit of news for the day, the Phoenix Art Museum just opened a new exhibit called "After Dark: 100 Years of the Evening Dress." While the article talks about Audrey and her iconic LBDs (Little Black Dresses), it's unclear on whether any actual Audrey clothing is in the display. The original article is here, and I've found a little more information (and a picture of one beautiful dress) here, at the museum's actual website. Even if Audrey memorabilia isn't included, it would still be a great exhibit and something worth seeing.

P.S. Regular reader Ankit posted this in response to the "Keats or Shelley?" post. Say it ain't so! Well, I guess now we have the answer to both questions.

more "Funny Face"

I'm sorry I didn't get around to posting last night, but I was hard at work. I've found a new way to get higher quality screengrabs, and while the process takes about three times as long, the pictures themselves are about a thousand times better and so worth it. Which means I'll eventually have to go back and re-grab Charade and Breakfast at Tiffany's, but not just yet. Here's the link to the new gallery, and here's a sneak preview: What do you think?

There is really and truly nothing new to report in Audrey news, which is surprising. The latest stories are usually about Gap sales falling 7% despite Audrey's commercials, or Halloween costumes or
Treasures. Judging by the contest poll results so far, it's pretty safe to say that the next contest prize is going to be the new 3-disc Gardens of the World set. Does no one read anymore? ;) So probably in the next week I'll put up the contest itself (once I figure out what we're going to do), then the contest itself will last two weeks, like the last one. Would it be easier on everyone if I started up a mailing list to keep them up to date on the contests? Also, I forgot to note it in the first contest, but all contests are open to anyone in the world. If you have a mailbox or some other way of getting a package delivered to you, then you're eligible to play. Let me worry about shipping, you just worry where you're going to put your new prize. :)

What ever happened to class?

Well, now that Lotta and Carl have won the first contest, the news has slowed to a crawl (though if Carl doesn't claim his prize soon, I might redraw for it!). I guess the Gap commercials being over has really dried up the flow for a while . . . until the dress goes on auction and more books come out. But I have found one article that hasn't been rehashed a million times that is a pretty good read. It talks about the lame excuse for role models in American society today and how their complete ignorance of fashion (and even of dressing themselves) is reflecting on young girls and young women and making us into a nation of tarts. Here's my favourite line:
What ever happened to the era of chic, the era of Audrey Hepburn, when women acted and dressed like ladies? Many women prattle on and on about how the sexual revolution liberated them -- and yet they still feel compelled to attract male attention by dressing badly. That's slavery, not liberation.
You can read the whole article here, and even if these sorts of articles aren't your cup of tea, please take the last sentence of the article to heart. It seems to have been forgotten lately in society.

This time it was me

I'm sorry it took so long to get the contest going. I was out shopping around for the book itself (Treasures) , since Amazon didn't have it in stock as of 3 in the afternoon. (???) I got to look over the book at some leisure, playing with all those wonderful inserts they've put in and ogling the pictures. Ooh, someone is going to be very happy when they win this book! To try your luck, just go to the contests page and leave your name and email address. The winner and runner-up will be notified via email once the contest is over and they will send their shipping information then. Winner and runner-up will be chosen at random -- out of a hat, if you must know.

In vaguely Audrey-related news, I watched Ballet Russes last night. It's a documentary film on the original prima dancers of the Ballet Russes in all its incarnations, and it's a very well done film. Audrey's ballet teacher in England worked with Nijinsky and other people who founded Diaghilev's original company, and I'm sure she greatly admired many of these dancers, though it was always Fonteyn who was her favourite. Even if you aren't a ballet nut or dancer (past or present), you'll still be captivated by their story, and you'll see just why ballet captivated Audrey so much and why it hurt her so much to have to let that dream go. Their official site is here, where you can see the trailer. It's out on DVD now, so it should be pretty easy to find and rent if you're curious about it.

Lastly, there's a new short program up on You Tube that's about Audrey. I haven't seen it yet (I'm going to watch it during dinner), but here's all of it broken into three easy pieces:

*edit* After watching the program, I noticed that most of the songs played in the first half were from Dmitri From Paris's album "Sacré Bleu." If you're an Amélie fan, then you'll have noticed "Comptine D'Un Autre Ete L'Apres Midi." :) And, of course, a little Mancini thrown in for good measure. Overall, the show was a nice little bite-sized biography, and a good portion of the pictures are in Treasures. I hate how melodramatic the beginning was, though. I'm sure Audrey would have rolled her eyes. It was like watching The Audrey Hepburn Story again.

We're currently revamping our photo galleries, which will show well over 3,000 pictures when finished, plus a great multimedia section, new e-cards, and maybe the best news of all for you, contests! Yes, regular contests. Each one will be different to try and give everyone a fair chance at it, too. Our first contest starts October 3rd, with a chance to win a new copy of The Audrey Hepburn Treasures! And if you don't win, buck up! Second prize is a lovely hardback Breakfast at Tiffany's journal, and there will be plenty of other contests with excellent prizes.

What's more, the new site is configured to make it easier than ever to communicate with each other. Every news post is now comment enabled, which means you can leave feedback on news. Tell us what you think about those pesky Gap ads! Is Donald Spoto's new biography sensationalistic, or just misrepresented? What's up with those Holly Golightly robbers anyway? Now you can speak your mind. And in this post, please feel free to leave comments on anything you'd like to see on this site in the future, or what you like now. This site was built for you, so make sure you are getting what you want. You may also email requests and suggestions to questions@fabaudrey.com if you'd like. But most of all, have fun here.

Enjoy!
